Thoma Wesley Mattox Obituary (1944 - 2010)

Thoma Wesley Mattox, 66, of Muncie, IN passed away peacefully at his residence, early morning, Friday, December 31, 2010. He was born on May 5, 1944 in Parker City, IN the son of Robert Wesley and Mary Margaret Mattox. He was a graduate of Monroe Central High School. Tom retired in 1975 after 13 years as a Machine Operator for General Motors. He enjoyed cars and the Indianapolis 500. He was also a die-hard Yankees fan. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Thoma Wesley Mattox II (wife, Stacy) of Arcadia, IN and Amanda Lynn Goad (husband, Derrick) of Muncie, IN; a brother, George Mattox (wife, Beverly) of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Connor Wesley Mattox and Brennon Cooper Mattox; nieces and nephews, Rene' Self, Christy Hockett, Leslie Moulton, Michael Morris and Matthew Morris; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service to celebrate Tom's life will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN with Pastor Jim Sandberg officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery of Muncie, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Envelopes will be provided.
