Robert "Bobby" "Wally" W. Walradth II, 74, of Parker City, IN passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at his home in Bradenton, Florida. He was born November 21, 1948 in Muncie, IN, the son of Robert W. And Dorothy (Williams) Walradth. Bobby was a lifelong residence of Delaware County. Bobby attended Blountsville School through the 8th grade, then he was a 1967 graduate of Union High School of Modoc, IN. He played four years of sports, including baseball and basketball. While playing baseball, Bobby was one of the very few that could almost reach the school windows, only to knock one of them out, while he attended Blountsville. He was a proud Union Rocket. Bobby's Senior year, his team was picked to win the sectional, but they fell a little short. The Rockets did win, however, the four-way tourney in 1967, which Bobby had 11 assist that game, which was a new record. Winning the four-way tourney was like winning the county. After Bobby graduated in 1967, he went to work for General Motors for over 30 years, working in the forge shop and shipping & receiving. He served as a union representative. From an alternate committeeman to elected committeeman. He also served as Chairman and Elected Delegate for U.A.W. 499. He enjoyed spending his leisure time going to car shows, especially enjoying the old muscle cars. He liked driving fast cars in his youthful years. In 1969, Bobby received draft papers to serve his country. He went to Fort Knox, KY for his training to become a tank operator. After his training He was sent to Vietnam. Bobby was injured several times while serving in Vietnam and Cambodia. He was a decorated veteran for his service, where he received the National Defense Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantry Medal, the honorary Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars, Valorous Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm Device, 11th U.S. Calvary Vietnam-Cambodia Black Horse Combat Spurs Award. He honorably served his country and his countrymen shall forever be grateful. Bobby is a member of the Whitney Lodge 229, serving for 25 years. He is a past member of Mizah Shriners and past member of Scottish Rite 32 degree, both of Ft. Wayne, IN. He is a member of the American Legion post 353, Farmland, IN; the Moose Lodge 1977 of Winchester, IN; lifetime member of AMVETS of Muncie, IN and DAV. Bobby liked to joke with people and sometimes he would stretch his stories. He loved to make people laugh and smile. Bobby leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Nancy Jo Anne (Butler) Walradth, marrying on March 23rd 1970. They met in Hawaii while Bobby was still serving his country. They were married when Bob had a 7 day of R & R in Hawaii. He then went back to service in Vietnam and Cambodia to complete his military tour. Together they have a son, Robert W Walradth III (wife, Cathy). He has two wonderful grandsons, Tanner Isaac Walradth and Brian Elijah Walradth; two sisters, Dianna Golliher (husband, Mike) of Milton, KY and Rita Butler (husband, Jim, deceased) of Ocala, FL; his father's wife, Barbara Walradth; several cousins in Ft. Myers; and also the LaDuron Family, Jules, Jax, Linda, Lisa, Leigh, all of Delaware County, IN; a favorite cousin, Mike Lacy (wife, Alecia) with sons, Brad and Brian. (Mike has always been like a brother to Bobby and he always looked up to him. Thanks for being there Mike.); two sisters-in-law, Janet Bivens and Tresa Mallory; several nieces and nephews, James Butler II, Derick Butler, Jason Butler (wife, Amy), Scott Bivens (wife, Sarah), Kirk Bivens, Sarah Mallory, Stacey Childers and Chris Hendricks; a lifelong friend, Ron Carey; and many other lifetime friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Brooke Walradth; a son Brandon Thomas Walradth; and a nephew, Robert Earl Hendricks. A service to celebrate Bobby's life will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2023, at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Garden of Memory Cemetery of Muncie, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7th, at the funeral home.
