Mary Roberta (Wright) Sunday Obituary (1922 - 2015)

Mary Roberta Sunday, 93, of Farmland, IN passed away early Tuesday morning, June 23, 2015 at her residence. She was born March 17, 1922 in Randolph County, IN the daughter of Talmage and Mary (Clements) Wright. Roberta worked in the cafeteria for 10 years at Monroe Central High School of Parker City, IN. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Farmland, IN since 1947, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of Farmland Fire Department Auxiliary and the Warner Gear Sympathy Club. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Murray L. Sunday (wife, Rebecca) of Farmland, IN and Billy Joe Sunday (wife, Dorothy) of Marion, IN; two daughters, Sheila Ann Nester of Farmland, IN and Rhoda Atkins of Bradenton, FL; a brother, Malcolm Wright (wife, Mary Carolyn) of Farmland, IN; three sisters, Bessie Ellen Shaw of Farmland, IN, Barbara A Brown of Farmland, IN and Elaine Fruitt (husband, Don) of Zionsville, IN; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Hubert; a sister, Ruth A Bosh; daughter-in-law, Nicki Sunday; three sons-in-law, David McCord, Ellis Nester and Don Atkins; and a great grandson, Nicholas Raines. A service to celebrate Roberta's life will be 11 am Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery of Maxville, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 pm Friday, June 26th at the funeral home.
