Janet L. Cross Obituary (1962 - 2023)

Janet Lynn Cross, 61, of Dunkirk, IN was able to reunite with her father in heaven on October 12, 2023. Janet was born in Jay County on September 20, 1962 to Robert and Peggy Curts. She attended Monroe Central High School and graduated in 1982. Janet was a carefree spirit. She had the ability to roll with the punches and over come any obstacle set in her way. For the last 19 years, Janet lived for her grandchildren. They were her whole reason for being. They brought her great joy and happiness. When she wasn't with her grandchildren, she loved Kings Island. She loved roller coasters, but she really loved Kings Island when she had her grandkids with her and when she was able to share her favorite Kings Island fudge with them. She enjoyed Colts football and talking Colts football with her son and grandsons. Janet was a mother of two children. Her son Ryan Cross and his wife Natoshia blessed her with 11 grandchildren, 3 of which she is now with in heaven. Janet's daughter, Trista Carreno and her husband Ali also blessed her with 8 grandchildren. Her 16 grandchildren were her pride and joy. Janet's is also survived by her mother, Peggy Curts. She had 2 sisters, Tina Rouch (Allen), Brenda Williams and a brother, Gary Curts (Mary). She has several nieces and nephews. Janet was proceeded in death by her father, Robert Curts and 3 grandchildren. A celebration of Janet's life will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Dunkirk Memorial Chapel, 317 N Main St., Dunkirk, IN 47336. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 1:00 p.m. to service time, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
