Harriet L (Chilcott) Lovis Obituary (1938

Harriet L. "HoneyLou" Lovis, 74, of Dunkirk, IN passed away Monday evening, June 17, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN from injuries sustained from a car accident. She was born July 31, 1938 in Dunkirk, IN, the daughter of Walter l. and Martha J. (Borton) Chilcott. She was a 1956 graduate of Dunkirk High School. "HoneyLou" retired in 2006 , as a cashier for Family Dollar, after six years. She previously worked 12 years at the Village Pantry. She attended Union Chapel in Muncie, IN. She enjoyed her flower gardens very much and wanted to make sure all her visitors got to see them. She also spent much of her time visiting with her grandchildren n and great grandchildren. One of her greatest pass-times was "Road Farmin". Harriet leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Shelly K. Lovis and Kelly J. West, both of Dunkirk, IN; three grandchildren, Luke Bivens (wife, Courtney) of Dunkirk, IN, Kacey Vickers (husband, Kyle) of Richmond, IN and Robert Lovis III of Bluffton, IN; three great grandchildren, Cody, Cooper and Addison; two brothers, J. Walter Chilcote (wife, Bobbie) of Emory, Texas and Michael B. Chilcote (wife, Sharon) of Yorktown, IN; a sister, L. Jane Shatto of Milwauki, WI; and beloved canine friends, Rosi and Goldi. She was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children, Robert Lovis; and a son, Robert L. Lovis II. Per Harriett's prior request, there will be no calling hours or services. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Dunkirk Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dunkirk Community Center; or the donor's choice.
