Guy G Swoveland Obituary (1924

Guy G. Swoveland, 90, of Huntsville, IN passed away Wednesday evening, June 24, 2015 at Parker Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Parker City, IN. He was born July 25, 1924 in Hagerstown, IN the son of Charles and Beatrice (Gaunt) Swoveland. He honorably served in the United States Army. Guy had worked as a truck driver for Rawlings Casket Factory and had also been employed at Ingersol of New Castle, IN. He would be most recognized for owning and operating Huntsville Grocery and Huntsville Tire and Repair. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 69 years, Hazel B. (Wilkinson) Swoveland; a son, James R. Swoveland (wife, Jeannette) of Farmland, IN; three daughters, Dorothy Pierce of Winchester, IN, Bonnie Cook (husband, Sam) of Huntsville, IN and Merri Allen (husband, Homer) of Huntsville, IN; a brother, Frank Swoveland (wife, Melinda) of Hagerstown, IN; two sisters, Hilda Hall of Cambridge City, IN and Mary Lou Tarter of Elk Grove, CA; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Donald, Richard and David; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lykens; three brothers; and one sister. A service to celebrate Guy's life will be 10 am Monday, June 29, 2015 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery of Losantville, IN.
