Evans Martin Hollandsworth Obituary (1942 - 2014)

Evans Martin Hollandsworth, 71, of Parker City, IN passed away Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014 at his residence of Parker City, IN. He was born July 21, 1942 in Radford, VA the son of Carl Martin and Dorthula Josephine (Simpkins) Hollandsworth. He honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed and lead a survey party through the jungles of Liberia. Evans retired in 2011 as a Project Manager for Oberle Construction Corporation of Richmond, IN. He was previously employed with Builders Tech. He had served a the project manager for the construction of Indiana University East of Richmond, IN. He enjoyed spending his leisure time as an aircraft pilot and playing the guitar. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Judy; three sons, George Frederick Lemke III of Stantonsburg, NC, Chad Everette Hollandworth of Willis, VA and Scott Evans Hollandsworth (wife, Jennifer) of Willis, VA; two daughters, Michele Cecile Price (husband, Jeffrey Wayne) of DeSoto, KS and Rebecca Elizabeth Lemke of Sterling, VA; two brothers, Jerry Hollandsworth of Forrest, VA and Kenneth Hollandsworth (wife, Nelligene) of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Lucille Fuller (husband, Joe) of Edan, NC and Judy Elaine Hylton of Woolwine, VA; and two grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Price and Jacob Anthony Price. He was preceded in death by his parents. A service to celebrate Evans' life will be 10 am Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Buck Creek Church of the Brethren of Mooreland, IN. Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery of Marion, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 6-8 pm Friday, April 11th at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN.
