Claudie L. Roberts Obituary (1919 - 2010)

Claudie L. Roberts, 91, of Lynn, IN passed away peacefully late Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center of Winchester. He was born February 19, 1919 in White Co., Tennessee, the son of Willie Joseph and Mary Edna (Wright) Roberts. Claudie honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was retired in 1976 from Borg Warner after 32 years. He enjoyed 28 years of retirement in White County, Tennessee, before returning to Indiana in 2003. He was a member of the Lynn Church of the Nazarene. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Don Owen Roberts (wife, Sue) of Union City, IN and Harold Lee Roberts (wife, Pam) of Lynn; a daughter, Wilma Joyce Spencer (husband, John) of Lynn; a brother, Clyde Roberts (wife, Lucy) of Sparta, TN; two sisters, Novella Hale of Shelbyville, TN and Bessie Roberts of Sparta, TN; eleven grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Mary Gladys Roberts (1971) and Brooksie Roberts (2007); six brothers; and three sisters. A service to celebrate Claudie's life will be at 12:00pm Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Lynn Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Blountsville Cemetery with military honors being offered. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 10 am to service time on Saturday, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
