Betty E (Hardwick) Bales Obituary (1921 - 2012)

Betty E. Bales, 90, of Lynn, IN passed away Sunday morning, January 8, 2012 at Reid Hospital and Healthcare Services of Richmond, IN. She was born August 14, 1921 in Huntsville, IN, the daughter of Ralph and Bessie (Werts) Hardwick. She was a graduate of Lynn High School in 1938. She had employment many various places throughout her life, but most recently was a homemaker. She was a member of Spartanburg Christian Church of Spartanburg, IN. Betty leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Richard "Dick" Bales; a daughter, Karen Roberts of Perrysburg, OH; a son, Kenneth Bales of Parker City, IN; two brothers, Dean Hardwick (wife, Janet) of Melrose, FL and Don Hardwick (wife, Alice) of Frankfort, IN; four grandchildren, Tammy Smith (husband, Bret) of Tiffin, OH, Kimberly Dempsey (husband, Scott) of Streetsboro, OH, Amber Davis (husband, Tyrone) of Richmond, IN and Samantha Wilson of Parker City, IN; six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Vivian Bowen. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Spartanburg Christian Church of Spartanburg, IN with Pastor Brian Richmond officiating. Cremation will follow. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 pm Wednesday, January 11th at Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Christian Church.
