Bernard C Kinnan Obituary (1922 - 2011)

Bernard C. Kinnan, 88, of Indianapolis, formerly of Farmland, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Brookdale Place at Fall Creek of Indianapolis. He was born May 1, 1922 in Stryker, OH the son of Ollie and Pauline (Graham) Kinnan. He graduated from Stryker High School. He honorably served in the US Army Air Corp. during W.W. II. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his participation of the Battle of the Bulge. He later retired as a Major from the Air Force reserves. Bernard was retired from his life's work in 1987 as a manager and training consultant for Sales Consultants Management Recruiters. He previously had worked 28 years as a salesman for Avco of Richmond, IN. He was a member and practiced his faith at the Farmland United Methodist of Farmland, IN. Bernard leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 62 years, Mary Margaret (Catey) Kinnan; a son, Don B. Kinnan (wife, Fran) of Fishers, IN; two daughters, Denise Rendleman (husband, Steve) of Indianapolis, IN and Dina Kinnan (companion, Paul Aurandt) of River Forest, IL; a granddaughter, Amy Anderson (husband, Jeff) of Carmel, IN; and three great grandchildren, Cameron, Caroline and Shawn Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marcia Elliott; and four brothers, Richard, Russell, Verdette and Duane Kinnan. A graveside service to celebrate Bernard's life will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Little Creek Cemetery, 1050 S. and St. Rd. 1 of Modoc, Indiana. There will be no visitation hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to the Farmland United Methodist Church, 400 N. Morris St. Farmland, IN 47340.
