Beatrice Belva (Sullivan) Modezjewski Obituary (1927 - 2011)

Beatrice Sullivan (Cox) Modezjewski, 84, of Columbus, IN, went home to be with the Lord, April 17, 2011. She was a former long-time resident of Dunkirk (1947-1973). She was born and grew up in New York City, NY. Beatrice was an employee for Armstrong / Kerr Glass Container Corp. for approximately 18 years. Later she worked with the mentally and physically challenged in Home Healthcare for the IN. State Board of Health. Among her many talents was her artistic abilities, including interior and exterior design. Her cozy homes breathed the "Heart of the Home". Beatrice was often told her "gift" was in her hands, where she gave loving, kind and compassionate care to those in need. Beatrice and her family had great times and created wonderful memories by vacationing and camping throughout the U.S. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Angela Doraisani, Anne Spicer, Diane Kaufman-Everroad and Kelly Cox; sisters, Anne Teresa Wallis and Frances Alvine; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Beulah and Joseph Sullivan, brothers Buddy, Mickey, and Bill, sister Mary Jane, ex-husband James E. Cox; three children, Lori Jean, Jimmy, and Beatrice Georgia; two grandchildren, Shad Eric Kaufman and Devon Sullivan Underwood. A service to celebrate Beatrice's life will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Dunkirk Memorial Chapel of Dunkirk. Family and friends may gather to share and remember Beatrice prior to service from 11 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Dunkirk I.O.O. F. Cemetery. Cards and Memorials may be sent to P.O.
